I’ve been keeping my ear to the ground lately regarding aurora activity, and was envious when I saw that the southern hemisphere was in for a peak of aurora activity due to a CME heading our direction.

That evening, to my delight, it turned out the show was pretty good in the northern hemisphere as well… I set the camera up on the balcony not sure of what the result would be. Went out a couple of hours later to find an absolutely epic display. I fired off about 1300 shots, and was so excited I compiled the timelapse below, before heading to bed around 5am.
