I was taking a few shots out at the new Shorncliffe Jetty when a little girl came rolling past on an electric segway. I took the opportunity to hit the shutter for a long exposure, and thankfully she rolled to the side without bumping the camera. The resulting streak took my fairly average image to something quite special.
It was an epic night on February 1. After a scorching 35 degree day, severe thunderstorms broke out in the afternoon. Combined with the light of sunset it made for an awe inspiring display of nature’s fury. Unfortunately I didn’t have my camera with me at sunset, but I came out later in the evening to follow the fireworks display nature put on in the evening. The gateway bridge is not one of the most inspiring bridges I’ve photographed, however tonight I managed to capture what I feel is an attractive view of a fairly non-photogenic subject. I managed to capture both a boat passing by and a plane on approach to BNE in this monochrome image.
Took a trip up to Mt Coot-tha tonight and to our surprise we were just in time to see the moon rising over the city. This christmas was the first christmas in 38 years to have a full moon, feel very privileged to have experienced it!
While living abroad, one of the things I’ve sorely missed about Queensland is its epic storms. Thankfully this summer has not disappointed, putting on numerous shows with electrifying performances dancing across the sky.
